Set up your Relationship on Timeline Profile

From your homepage, click on "edit profile" in the top left corner. Then scroll down until you find the family section. Then click on the "Edit" button as shown below.

This screen will appear, and you can then select your relationship status

You can also change who can see your relationship status by clicking on the audience selector in the top right corner as shown above.

One more note about relationship requests: They are requests. The other person has to approve it before it will actually show on your profile, just like real life. And also just like real life, if the person you are in a relationship with decides they dont want to be in a relationship with you anymore, they can cancel it WITHOUT your permission, making your relationship show up in the news feed to all of your friends as "single" and people can comment on it if they so choose.
